KickApps Vies for Best Social Software Platform in DPAC Awards

How do you judge a social software platform? Social media is growing like a weed precisely because the tools to communicate with each other are at once so intuitive, and creative that they're irresitible. But KickApps can also point to more objective measures of success. One of its publishers, Ovation TV (not coincidentally the SAMMY best community award winner) has built a loyal membership of more than 7,900 art lovers, in less than a year. After launching its KickApps-driven site, online traffic was up 145 percent, page views jumped 311 percent, and the average time spent by users on the site quadrupled. Just one other measure stands out: Microsoft uses it to run its OneNote customer community.
