MOBI 2010 Best Mobile/Social Integrated Campaign Finalist: BET Fandemonium

To determine the Fandemonium Award winner, the following is a listing of challenges that were conducted during the contest:

o SMS Voting (48 hour and 5 minute challenges) – fans texted their favorite artists’ keyword to a short code

o Twitter – fans tweeted BET issued, artist specific hashtags to drive trending topic position
o Photo Uploads – fans uploaded photos that demonstrated fan commitment
o Video Views – fans watched their favorite artists’ videos on BET.com
o Facebook – fans “Liked” their favorite artist’s picture on the BET Awards page

Central to this strategy was the use of the actual artists to incite fan participation. The participating artists promoted the contest directly via their fans Twitter, Facebook pages and fan websites.
