Travelzoo gained more than 600 Twitter followers during M Booth’s 2-month maintenance of its page, which is a significant startup community. Riding on the momentum of the launch, that number has more than doubled since, with Travelzoo’s follower count currently at 9,000. Due to the fact that all of Travelzoo’s Twitter followers were required to subscribe to the Top 20 Newsletter in order to view the deals that Travelzoo linked to on Twitter, we can safely assume that all of the Twitter followers also became newsletter subscribers. Over the course of those two months, Travelzoo.com also received over 1,700 clicks as a direct result of deals posted on Twitter.
